The Heart Behind the Homestead

Welcome! We are so glad you’re here!
We’re Sarah and Carson Hartzell-the family behind The Hartzell Homestead. Together we’re building a life rooted in faith, hard work, and the simple joys of home.
Carson is a fourth-generation farmer and taxidermist with a deep love for the land and animals we care for. I’m a sixth-generation farmer, homemaker, cosmetologist, baker, and the one usually behind the camera, in the kitchen, or tending the garden.
Around here you’ll find homemade recipes, preserving the harvest, gardening, life on our family farm, and the everyday moments that remind us a simple life can be a beautiful one.
Our hope is that when you visit The Hartzell Homestead, you’ll leave encouraged to slow down, gather around the table, and build a life worth passing down. We are so glad you’re here!

Here at The Hartzell Homestead, we believe the best things in life aren’t rushed. They grow slowly through faithful work, shared meals, changing seasons, and the everyday moments that make a house a home.
We’re building a life faithfully, slowly, and intentionally- a life worth passing down. We hope you’ll join us on the journey.
